Fueling the fall trend for all things Pumpkin Spice with this hearty way to energize your morning! While pumpkin spice may have some “betchy” connotations these days, pumpkin itself is a really powerful food that has many health and beauty benefits.

Pumpkins are rich in antioxidants and are anti inflammatory which helps keep joints, tissues and organs healthy. Because pumpkin contains L tryptophan, a chemical compound that triggers feelings of well being, it can aid in stress relief, boost your mood and help you fall asleep.

Pumpkin is also rich in fiber, protein and plant based fatty acids which all help regulate cholesterol and keep the heart healthy. Loaded with Vitamin A for those beautiful peepers plus Vitamin C and Zinc to boot the immune system and encourage collagen production to keep skin glowing and youthful. The carotids which make pumpkin orange also prevent premature aging.
So while I may not be on board with the high fat, calorie, caffeine and often dairy laden #PSL trend, the pumpkin thing I can totally get behind!
